2016 La Croix Canenac – St. Emilion Grand Cru (750ML)

VARIETAL | 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc

WINEMAKER NOTES | Chateau La Criox Cantenac has been in the Richard family for several generations. Today, the husband-and-wife team are passionate about doing what they do: making gorgeous wine. The estate is located on the eastern side of the Saint-Emilion plateau, out towards Puisseguin. The grapes are partly picked by hand, partly by machine.

TASTING NOTES | The dominance of Merlot is apparent on the nose with black fruits and notes of cherry and spice. In the mouth, the wine is smooth and elegant, with good complexity and structure from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The finish is long and fine. The blend of the terroirs offers robust, brilliant wines, adorned with a garnet color, ripe red fruits, with fine tannins, mixed with elegant woody, toasted and vanilla notes.
