Cleto Chiarli di Sorbara Vecchia Modena – Lambrusco (750ML)
ORIGIN | Italy
VARIETAL | Lambrusco
WINEMAKER NOTES Lambrusco has made a huge comeback in recent years, shedding its reputation for being an overly sweet, fizzy wine akin to sugary soda and stepping out as a complex category of delicious and delightful sparkling reds. Now, toss out everything you think you know about this new iteration of Lambrusco and meet Cleto Chiarli “Vecchia Modena.” This is no inky, deep red bubbly, it is Lambrusco di Sorbara, the lightest and most delicate style. The grape has thinner skin and produces wines that appear more rosé than red. Dehydrated raspberry and strawberry dominate the palate with tiny hints of violet, tart cherry, and mandarin orange. A beautifully dry sparkler for any occasion.
TASTING NOTES | A lively Lambrusco full of a mixed bowl of red berried fruits. Just the right sparkling red wine to serve with your next plate of salumi. This comes from the area of Sorbara and the Lambruscos from this area render a ruby-colored sparkler. To open this unusual closer, slide the foil cutter of a wine key (or a butter knife) on the side of the metal clamp and gently pry it open.
