Matcha Chocolate Chip Brownies

If you followed along with our friend Sarah, when we first launched our Japanese food-grade matcha in bulk, you learned how to make matcha lattes, and matcha energy balls – YUM! Luckily, we have another matcha expert in the NECM Kitchen, Chris Phat. This time he is showing us how to use matcha in a dessert. This recipe is easy, fun, and something you won’t find at the grocery store. Enjoy!


  • 1/4 Cup NECM Matcha Powder 
  • 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour 
  • 1/4 TSP Baking Powder 
  • 1/2 TSP Vanilla Extract 
  • 1 Cup NECM Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 4 TBSP Butter Melted 
  • 3 TBSP Vegetable Oil 
  • 2 Eggs 


  1. Preheat Oven to 350°F 
  2. In a Mixing Bowl Whisk Eggs with Sugar, Melted Butter & Vanilla Extract, Oil
  3. Add All Purpose Flour 
  4. Add Matcha Green Tea Powder 
  5. Add Baking Powder 
  6. Mix Dry Ingredients Together with Egg Mixture
  7. Add Chocolate Chips & Mix 
  8. Place Parchment Paper  on Baking Sheet 
  9. Pour & Spread Batter Evenly 
  10. Bake for 20-25 mins 
  11. Once Baked, Cool Down & Cut Into Squares
